Quote Colors

Upgrading: Before installing a new version of this extension, you should uninstall the previous version according to the steps described below. Your settings will be kept (unless you explicitly select to delete them). In Thunderbird and SeaMonkey 2, usually you won't need to perform manual upgrades as the add-on manager will detect and install any new version of this extension automatically.

Installation

Follow the these steps to install Quote Colors for Thunderbird or SeaMonkey 2. The installation procedure is the same as for most other extensions.

1. Start the application and open the add-on manager by selecting Tools » Add-ons (Thunderbird) and Tools » Add-on Manager (SeaMonkey 2) respectively.
2. Select Extensions tab on the top to show list of installed extensions.
3. Click on Install… button in the lower left corner.
4. Browse to the folder you saved the extension package (XPI file) to, select it and click Open.
5. Follow the instructions. After successful installation, restart the application.

For an installation in Mozilla or SeaMonkey 1.x do the following:

1. Either left click the download link from within Mozilla/SeaMonkey which automatically starts the installation process or go to File » Open File… and open the quotecolors XPI file you've just downloaded.
2. Click on Install button.
3. Decide whether you want the extension installed to your profile or to your Mozilla/SeaMonkey program directory (global installation for all users).
4. After successful installation, restart the application.

Uninstall

Note: Please enable graphical quoting before uninstall if you want Thunderbird/SeaMonkey to behave like before installation of Quote Colors.

The add-on manager should be used for uninstalling Quote Colors from Thunderbird and SeaMonkey 2.

1. Start the application and open the add-on manager by selecting Tools » Add-ons (Thunderbird) and Tools » Add-on Manager (SeaMonkey 2) respectively.
2. Select Extensions tab on the top to show list of installed extensions.
3. Select "Quote Colors" from the list and click the Uninstall button.
4. Confirm uninstall and restart the application.

To uninstall Quote Colors from Mozilla or SeaMonkey 1.x do the following:

1. Open the Quote Colors options dialog by selecting Tools » Quote Colors Options… in the mail & news client.
2. Click the Uninstall button in the lower left corner of the dialog.
3. Confirm uninstall by clicking OK and select if the Quote Colors settings should be deleted (it is recommended to keep your settings when performing an upgrade).
4. Restart the application.

After following these steps, two files from Quote Colors will remain since they are not removed by the uninstall script. They won't do any harm beside taking up some kilobytes on your hard disk but just in case anyone wants to eliminate them: delete quotecolors.jar from the chrome directory (either in your profile or in the program directory) and delete quotecolors.js from /defaults/pref subdirectory in the Mozilla/SeaMonkey program directory.
